Mateusz Pecyna

Miriam Pružincová, also known as MIMI, is a Slovak photographer, filmmaker, and visual artist. She is currently studying for her master’s degree at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, in the Photography II studio led by Alena Kotzmannová. In her practice, she works primarily with analogue photography and video, a documentary approach, and her personal archive. Since 2019, she has been systematically collecting fragments of everyday life, which she subsequently connects into carefully composed pairs, diptychs, and visual sequences, thus creating series or an endless, unnamed body of work that is simply about life as such. Through the deliberate connecting and assembling of photographs in installations, as well as the intentional completion of series through newly made images, she disrupts the boundary between chance and staging within documentary practice. She understands photography as a form of play and a tool for storytelling — a visual poem or narrative. At first glance, her work may appear delicate, yet it carries irony, paradox, and intense intimacy. From environmental themes and stories of people searching for their identity, the artist gradually moves toward more personal subjects that address safe spaces and generational anxieties. Her practice also engages with memory, corporeality, mental health, trauma, the relationship to nature, and the natural presence of death in life. Her work has been exhibited, among others, in Prague, Munich, London, Berlin, Milan, Tokyo, and Slovakia.

Florine Thiebaud (b. 1992, France) is a photographer based in Marseille. With a post-documentary practice that combines photography and writing, she places a significant emphasis on publishing. She explores the notions of imprisonment and isolation, the passage of time, loss of control, identity, and her connection to others. From 2016 to 2019, she developed two projects focused on the consequences of the waiting for papers for exiled people in Greece, placing the relationship with the other at the heart of her practice.The first was the project Exils, which won the Roger de Conynck Prize and was exhibited at the Recylart Gallery in Brussels, followed by Breaking Point. The latter was co-published as a book in May 2022 with Stockmans Art Books, and was exhibited at FOMU in Antwerp and at the Contretype Gallery in Brussels as part of the .TIFF selection and Propositions d’Artistes. Developing her reflections on notions of imprisonment and isolation and their consequences, she is currently working on a project about families of incarcerated people, Des Ondes (On Waves), based on a personal story. This project has received support from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, and part of it was already exhibited in 2023 at the Delta Cultural Center in Namur as part of a group exhibition. In parallel, following confrontations with her own physical and mental limits facing depression, she developped a new series of self-portraits: Revenir (Coming back). Using once again repetitive imagery and a consistent aesthetic, she explores the intersection of vulnerability, isolation, and transformation through self-portraiture. Photographing herself during moments of crisis and depression, she seeks to capture the disconnect between her inner world and reality.

Naa Teki Martey Lebar (*1989) is a visual artist and author. She studied Fine Arts and Photography in Great Britain, Language Arts at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and Austrian Studies at the University of Vienna. Her work explores themes of belonging and identity shaped by living across multiple cultures, often reflecting on the gaze in and beyond the photographic medium through personal narratives. Working with photography, text, and installation, Lebar creates spaces for reflection, narration, and care where experience becomes both material and method.

Varvara Uhlik (b.1997, Ukraine) is a London-based visual artist who explores themes of Slavic culture and identity, with a focus on the post-Soviet era’s impact on her generation. Working across photography, installation, and video, Varvara often reworks archival materials, bringing them into dialogue with contemporary narratives and newly produced work. Through this process, she examines the tension between past and present, reality and its digital afterlife, foregrounding the impermanence of our surroundings and the fragility of memory. In 2024, the British Journal of Photography recognised Varvara as a Ones to Watch artist. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at The Sunday Painter, London; Photo Élysée Museum, Switzerland; European Photography Month, Tokyo; MIA Milan Photo Fair, Italy; Encontros da Imagem, Portugal; and Liquida Photofestival, Italy. Her work has appeared in publications such as The Guardian, Beaux Arts Magazine, Photoworks, Riga Photography Biennial 2025, Der Greif, and LensCulture, among others.

After working for several years as an Art Director, Thomas Albdorf studied Transmedia Art at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, where he graduated in 2013. He was selected as an international “Artists to Watch” by British Journal of Photography in 2014; he won the UNSEEN Amsterdam Talent Award in 2016. He had institutional solo shows at FOAM Amsterdam (NL) and Museum Folkwang (DE), and his work has been exhibited throughout galleries in Europe & the United States. He has been featured in and interviewed for magazines like FOAM Magazine, British Journal of Photography, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Wallstreet Journal, The Guardian and many more. He received the Austrian State Scholarship for Fine Art Photography in 2024.

Anca Punct, an artist from Bucovina and now residing in Cluj-Napoca, blends tradition with digital innovation in her art. Her photography, which began a decade ago, has long focused on the Romania-Ukraine border area, infusing historical and ethnographic insights. Guided by seasoned mentors and self-taught experiences, Anca integrates AI technology into her work, creating innovative and deeply creative visual expressions. Her portfolio ranges from digital collage to generative imaging and photography, each piece inviting contemplation and offering fresh perspectives.

Carlos Trancoso is a Portuguese visual artist that works and lives in Porto. He uses the photographic gaze as a critical tool to understand how the human being relates to technology. His work aims to challenge established patterns of interaction relating to the creation of images in contemporary society. Although he mainly uses fictional approaches, his work incorporates a documental photography language with the expanded practice of creating cameraless images, mixed media and computer generated images. He is a founding member of Barda collective, which utilizes visual arts to foster social cohesion. He has exhibited at festivals such as Photoalicante, Backlight (2020), Photo Open Up, f/est Amarante (2022), Athens Digital Arts Festival (2023), Bienal da Maia (2021/2023) and Bienal de Fotografia do Porto (2025) . His works have also been exhibited in spaces such as Galeria FFAC, Galeria Dentro and MIRA FORUM in Porto, Casa do Capitão and XYZ Books in Lisbon and El Local in Madrid.

Vanessa Amoah Opoku is a German-Ghanaian interdisciplinary artist who transforms imperial surveying technologies such as LiDAR into relational tools. Her practice explores how diaspora and displacement, affecting bodies, species and materials, develops its own cartographic technologies: systems for connecting across distances. Through fragmentary point cloud scans and their materialization in space, she creates multi-layered installations made of wax, textiles, and digital fragments that invite encounter. She has been nominated for the European Commission's and Ars Electronica’s S+T+ARTS Prize 2025, and is part of BPA// Berlin program for artists 26-27. Her work has recently been shown at Belvedere 21 Vienna, Deichtorhallen Hamburg, Fotomuseum Winterthur, EIGEN+ART Lab Berlin, and at the 18th International Triennial of Textile in Łódź. She teaches process design at HGK Basel FHNW. An artist's book will be published by DISTANZ in 2026.

Maria Beatriz de Vilhena (b. 1991) is a Lisbon based photographer, with a professional background in architecture. She studied photography at CFP Bauer Milan and holds a master's degree in architecture from the University of Lisbon.

Her photographic work explores the pluralism of human nature through belief and collective identity, as well as issues related to memory and noetic. In recent projects, she has been working on the border between fiction and reality, through myths and tales connected to personal and historical events.

Recent shows include One dark night, Lazarus disappeared (Coruchéus Gallery, Lisbon, 2025), Five Relics, Five Photographers (Museum of São Roque, Lisbon, 2025), and Real Life is Not Black and White (Paris Photo, 2024).
