Kaiween Kang

Hana Selena Sokolović was born in Vienna in 1999 and grew up in Belgrade. She is a visual artist and researcher working between the Balkans and the Netherlands. Her work has been shown in group exhibitions in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, some of which are As Water Softens Stones (Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague, 2025), Push, Pull, Shift (Živi Atelje DK, Zagreb, 2025), 00:05:59 (Paradise, The Hague, 2024), and Fragments in Transit (Beetroot Studio, Thessaloniki, 2024). Alongside her artistic practice, she has worked with children in educational and socially engaged settings, an experience that continues to shape her people-centered and collaborative approach to art. Hana holds a BA in Photography and New Media from FAMU in Prague (2021) and an MA in Photography and Society from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (2025). She currently lives and works between Belgrade and The Hague.

Mari Mäntynen (b.1997) is a Finnish visual artist born and raised in Kerava’s prison area. The works are participatory and Mäntynen also appears in them herself. Her artistic work focuses on the question: How could we understand each other better? She addresses everyday tensions and difficult social challenges through collaboration and absurdity. She challenges her audience to confront others and their own prejudices. Mäntynen studies social situations and problems by organizing them, participating in them, photographing them, and finally watching them with the participants. For Mäntynen, the performative method of taking pictures is very important. At its deepest, her intention is to create friction and tension that somehow changes reality. In each of her works, she strives to challenge herself and always move on the edges of social norms and her comfort zone. Mäntynen’s working is subtle and exploratory, taking into account the power relations of photography. Mäntynen completed a Master of Fine Arts degree at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki in 2025. She has a Bachelor of Photography degree from Lab University of Applied Sciences, Lahti Finland and completed exchange studies in photography at FH-Bielefeld in Germany. Mäntynen's first solo exhibitions was on display in Peri Photography Center and Nykyaika Photography Center. Mäntynen’s works are in the collections Museum of Visual Arts Malva, as well as in private collections.

Mateusz Pecyna is a Polish visual artist working with installation, moving image, objects and sound. His practice explores how technological systems and environmental stress reshape contemporary culture, especially through regimes of visibility, interfaces and synthetic forms of nature. Rather than treating technology as a neutral tool, he approaches it as a cultural agent: something that produces aesthetics, behaviours and power relations. Combining research with speculative narration, he builds layered situations that test the boundaries between documentary evidence and constructed scenarios. Pecyna holds an MA in Photography and Multimedia from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Poland. He has presented work widely in solo and group exhibitions in Poland and internationally, across museums and festival contexts. He currently participates in the international Heritage Lens programme, focusing on how climate change and environmental catastrophe reorganise cultural heritage, public imaginaries and the conditions of living. He was awarded the Artistic Scholarship of the City of Łódź (2025).

Jeroen De Wandel uses photography as a starting point to create new images from all sorts of material (photographic or otherwise), using his own photography in different shapes, contexts and meanings. His artistic work often starts from a personal need to react within a social context / our society. A common thread is the functioning of our brain: how we deal with zeitgeist, with information, with manipulation, with technology and how all this reflects back on our psychological well-being. Depending on the angle and location, he uses different techniques, from photography and collages to installations, sculptures and spatial interventions. Pascual Ross (b.1977) is a Spanish photographer, who lives and works in Andalusia. His photographic practice is based on the people and the stories that each of us carry inside, this being his central axis of work. It reflects on the individual, his natural environment and the customs that condition him in one way or another. The minimal stories are the most important in the story line of your work.

Thalles Piaget (*1996) is a human being - not an artificial intelligence - born in Brazil and living in Biel/Bienne - CH. Essentially vagabond, Thalles is inspired by readings, walks, and reflections. Capturing a moment that doesn’t truly exist, trying to transform the ordinary into a dreamlike experience. Its artistic approach is at the border of dreams, science, and absurdity. Wandering, guided by the moment, playing with its non-existence. “In my work, I aim to open a window to a dreamlike digital universe composed of surfaces, reflections, and light, free from its commercial intent yet infused with a poetic perspective on the machinery’s materials. In my photographs and installations, I want to explore and question the possibilities of our digital images and their inflationary use in our daily lives. While using the medium of photography, my aim is not to document specific scenes or compositions, but rather to seek what is between the subject and the camera and to capture the moments in between. Photography serves as a fundamental tool in my creative work, yet paradoxically, it is the medium with which I maintain the most critical relationship.”‍

Nuno Alexandre Serrão is a Portuguese photographer and director whose work explores the relationship between natural landscapes and human-made structures, combining cinematic formalism and raw storytelling. Led by curiosity, he often creates or documents non-linear narratives about uncomfortable and ambiguous topics that challenge comfort zones and encourage reflection, ultimately provoking questions about what is fundamental or emergent. His work has gained international attention, and is published in established media outlets like HuffPost, Público, Expresso, L’Hémcycle, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, and GQ. It has also been exhibited in cultural institutions such as Fotogalerie Friedrichshain in Berlin, ImageNation in Milan, ArtIcon in Paris, and the National Museum of Finland. His short films and commercial projects have been recognized at festivals like Aesthetica, Caminhos do Cinema Português, FUSO, and Inshadow Festival. Critics describe Serrão’s work as ‘pursuing the beauty that emerges at the intersection of nature and humanity’ (Ana Marques Maia, Público, 2024). Claire Ducresson-Boët describes his landscapes as ‘places of passage and transition where time seems to stand still, offering a moment of quietness before life resumes.’

Máté Bartha (1987) is a Budapest-based visual artist working in the intersection of photography and theory-fiction. His practice is driven by a mission to reenchant the world through world-building, impersonation and constructing personal and collective mythologies. His work proposes new narratives by blending symbolic and subjective interpretations of his usual field of observation, the metropolis, treating urban spaces as arenas for imaginative transformation. Bartha’s works often combine staged and documentary imagery, archival material, and speculative narrative forms, and have been published and exhibited widely. Bartha holds Master’s degrees in Photography (Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, 2011) and Documentary Filmmaking (University of Theatre and Film Arts, 2016), and is currently a doctoral student at MOME. His first photobook, Common Nature (2014), explored the ambivalence of urban space as a mirror of the unconscious. Kontakt (2018), a coming-of-age portrait of Hungarian military youth camps, was awarded the Louis Roederer Discovery Award at the Rencontres d’Arles (2019). His recent project Anima Mundi, a fictional urban encyclopedia of cosmic order, received the Main Jury Prize at Les Boutographies, Montpellier (2024). His ongoing work, The Dice Man, is a chance-based photographic pilgrimage through grief, memory, and city space.

András Zoltai (1990, Szentes) is a documentary photographer, visual storyteller, and National Geographic Explorer based in Budapest, Hungary. He studied photojournalism at the Academy of the National Association of Hungarian Journalists. Specializing in socially and environmentally critical issues, he strives to blend journalistic and conceptual approaches in his documentary narratives. Since 2021, he has worked on environmental stories along the River Brahmaputra in India. This experience made Zoltai realize the urgency of addressing the water crisis in his homeland, Hungary, a landlocked country abundant in water. His current long-term project, "Blue Memoir," focuses on water issues and its isolation on physical, social, and spiritual levels in a Central European country that is supposed to be a water superpower. His approach explores the fragile and vulnerable relationship between humans and water through encounters and memories from his homeland, while also addressing how climate change and human negligence affect this most precious resource and the quality of life surrounding it. He has been working on this project since 2022. His work has been published in numerous international publications such as the Washington Post, Fisheye Mag, Libération, El País, and Le Monde, among others. He has been awarded the national József Pécsi Photography Scholarship three times and was the first recipient of the Carmencita–Kodak Grant and also got nomination to Leica Oskar Barnack Award and Joop Swart Masterclass. He is a talent of the European FUTURES platform and proud member of NOOR Academy Alumni.
